Short Story Writing Competition

Together with BBC Radio 2, the school ran a 500 word short story writing competition. The standard was extremely high and the judges had difficulty deciding on winners. However, in the end 3 winners were chosen plus a specially commended. Well done to everyone.

Lunch Menus

Chit Chat

Are you aware that we run an informal coffee morning every Friday of the term in the M Unit from 8.45 am to 9.45 am? If you have a bit of time to spare and would like to meet other like-minded parents/guardians/child-minders, then please feel free to drop in. Pre-School children are more than welcome and can come to play with the toys and have a drink and biscuit. The event is run by two of our Teaching Assistants and we sometimes organise outside speakers to come and share knowledge of their field.

Quick Reminders

• Summer Lunches Menu - A new summer lunch menu is being introduced at the beginning of the summer term. Baked potatoes will remain available as an option until half-term, when they will be replaced by sandwiches. Click here for a direct link to the lunch menu page.
  
  
• Sports Relief - A huge thank you to everyone who supported our children's mile walk for Sports Relief. To date we have raised an incredible £2,430 (as at Monday 16 April).
  

Grandparents' Day

Very special visitors came to Lakeside on Thursday 29 March - our children's grandparents! They were given the opportunity to see what school is like in 2012 by visiting their grandchildren's classrooms, and were then treated with a musical concert and refreshments. The sun shone and everyone seemed to have a marvellous time!
