Sport at Lakeside

Cross Country
Lakeside provides lots of different opportunities for children to participate in sports. In addition to PE and games lessons, a number of different clubs are run, either during lunch or after school.

Some clubs are run by outside organisers and so incur a charge for participation. Examples of these include:
  • Judo (Years 1-2, and 3-6)
  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Tag Rugby
Please ask in the Office for further details of these activities.

Other sports clubs are run after school by members of the School staff and some willing parents. They change on a termly basis. Details can be found in the Clubs letter sent to Years 2-6 each term (Letters & Newsletters page).

Here are some comments from pupils who have taken part in some of our sports clubs:
  • Judo teaches me to be disciplined, but in an enjoyable way! (Year 3)
  • In netball we learn how to play and also how to out-skill others (Year 6)
  • I really enjoy Ball-Up Sports; it's really fun. You play a lot of basketball and I love it! (Year 3)
  • Cross Country is good because it builds up your stamina and keeps you fit (Year 4)
